March 11 WNR FIRST of the 2020 Season!

2020 Wednesday Night Roll #1, March 11, 2020.
2020 the year of clarity
Whew! That was a rough winter. While milder than most, the short days. The nip in the air, the lack of time hanging out with our brother and sister rollers, has taken a toll. But it is over. Now let’s get busy.
Today is the first Wednesday Night Roll of the 2020 Major Taylor Cycling Club of Columbus Ohio season. As the year implies, its a year for clarity, and as such, we’re going to focus.
Anyone who listens to music understands the idea of a performer’s individual voice. Sinatra had his as did Marvin and Beyonce. They worked hard at developing their distinctive sound. It is their signature, of sorts. That is true in any artistic endeavor, and cycling is no different. Every rider has their own style of handling a bike on the road. Watch for it, and you’ll see what we mean. You’ll notice how a rider handles hills or negotiates corners or time at the front of the pack. Some are smooth, others not so.
This year’s WNR is going to be all about finding your voice in cycling. We’ll work on strength building, rolling in a pack and handling
We’ll start by developing a plan. Provided below are some links to sites offering ideas on how to build your plan, the basis of developing your style of riding.
As it’s early in the season, tonight’s roll is relatively short. We don’t want our style to include getting caught out after dark!
Off we go!
Tonights roll is a short one. Let’s roll together and start and finish strong.
If anyone wants additional miles to ride up on the trail
from Cleo or Circle K
or come down from Pickerington Ponds
to meet @ Three Creeks Park before 6:15 pm roll time.
